Week 45 Goodbye Portland hello St. Joseph

Hey all Yall's!
This week was good we went door knocking in the village of Muir and got kicked out! By some city guy. Because Muir is too small to have cops! haha So then we went back to our apartment and updated our records. Then we went to Dinner at the Doty's house. Their daughter in law who is not a member came and brought her kids. They are super cute!
We also had a lesson with Kevin this week. Kevin has a really hard time learning so I came up with an idea to help him and it worked! We got a lot of pictures about the plan of salvation and made a little diagram and he loved it! We also had a good lesson with Gill about faith and that went well!
On Monday we had Zone Pday. We went to this really nice park in Lansing and played soccer and football. And then we ate pie because it was Pioneer day. haha
I made Banana Bread for District Meeting this week!
Also this week we went and saw Brother Urie who is an 85 year old less active guy.
He had the hard shell chocolate ice cream topping on his table. And He looked at it and goes I got the wrong chocolate sauce. This stuff goes all hard and is super lumpy and just gross! So then we had to explain what it was to him. And He goes I hate that stuff. You guys can take it home with you! It was super funny! :)
Also this week we got our transfer calls! I am going to St. Joseph with Sister Nording. So back to the Kalamazoo zone! YAY! I am excited!
Love and miss yall's!

Week 44 Library Service

This week was full!
Tuesday we spent the day finding service opportunities! We are now helping at the library in Portland every Thursday from 11 to about 2 ish. Hopefully we will be able to soften the hearts of the people of Portland! The library here is basically the place to hang out so that's awesome!
Wednesday we had Sister Giles with us because her comp had to go to a doctors appointment in Grand Rapids. Door knocking. Personal contacting. All that good stuff.  Then we met with Gill!  It was a good lesson. He needs to develop more faith. He finds it hard to believe when he's had such an awful life.
The Stevensons came back on Thursday!!!! YAY! We started our library service. We weeded a little garden out back and sorted non-fiction books.  Then we drove out to see Lillian. She loves us coming over but she says that she feels like she wants to stay in her church. And now we've finally gotten her a large-print Book of Mormon! We'll see what happens.
On Saturday we had the "Portland Pioneer Potluck Picnic"!! And it was super fun! :) We had one of Forrest's biker buds Hillbilly join us!
We had lots of fun tracting stories this week:
a)this guy who was making an ice-box and a table to go with some chairs they'd just bought at a yard sale across the street.
b) This other guy who is studying to be an aviation missionary. Had a good long talk about that.
c) There was a black cat who followed us 3 doors. That was fun!
That is about it for this week! Transfer calls are on Friday and we are excited to see what happens! Sister Cottle is the best! I hope we get to stay together but if not then we know we were needed some where else. I am so grateful for this church and the blessings it brings into my life! :)
Love you all and hope you have a great week!

Week 43 Blueberries!

This week was good! Last Pday we went with the Charlotte Elders Elder Strauss and Elder Bourgeous to the fair. It was super fun! We rode lots of rides and had a blast.
This week we did lots of door knocking so that was fun. We met a lot of cool people. But none that were super interested in learning more. We also took one of the Young Women out door knocking with us and that was a blast. She is so cool! We also met  a less-active who the Stevensons had met before but hadn't been able to find again!
Ionia is having their huge fair this week so there will be lots of people to talk to again.  It has been really fun! That's about it for this week! Me and Sister Cottle are doing great and are having a blast together! :) Love and miss you all!

Week 42 4th of July

This week was pretty good! We saw more fireflies. Holiday weeks are pretty tough because no one wants to talk. All of our lessons canceled or shinned us. The forth was pretty fun though. We walked around the trail through Portland all day and talked to people. We went to the parade which was super small it only lasted a half hour and half the cars were tow trucks. But it was fun! We had Pday on Tuesday night from 6-10 so we went to a members house and had a BBQ and then played board games with them. It was super fun! :) Wednesday we had Zone Conference so we got to meet our new mission president and his wife. They are super cool! I really love them! :) Thursday we went and helped one of our Quaker friends pick wild black raspberries on the trail by our apartment. That was super fun! We also went and helped one of the less actives in our branch with her yard. On Monday we had interviews with our new mission president. They went well we really like them. They are awesome.
I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve the Lord at this time. My testimony has grown so much! I am so grateful for this church and the blessings it brings into my life. I am so grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ. And what that means for each of us. I am so grateful for the Plan of Salvation and that the people who have never heard about Jesus Christ get a chance to hear and accept him. Anyways I love you all! And hope you have a great week!

Week 41 New Mission President

This week was great! We door knocked lots which was okay. No one want's to talk to us though because of the holidays. We had a few lessons, one with Kevin he told us that his wife Linda doesn't want to get baptized again. So that was super awkward. Because they had gotten in a huge fight about it.
District meeting was super good this week. Elder Bourgeous is our new District Leader and he is super awesome! :)
On Saturday it was Sister Cottle and Elder Stevensons birthdays so they took us to Bob Evans for breakfast. And that was super yummy! :)
We had dinner yesterday with a family that just moved into our branch they are super cool. And love missionaries. Which is always a good thing. She is a UT cook so it's even more of a bonus! That's about all for this week. Oh we also saw lots more fireflies. Hope you all are doing well! Love y'all! :)
